Breakfast and Scenic Flights

The Central Idaho Rocky Mountains and wilderness areas comprise some of the most beautiful places on earth. Because these wilderness areas can be so remote, we are proud to offer our customers some unique ways to get a little closer to the fantastic surroundings in which we live.

Our scenic flights offer people the chance to see Central Idaho from a fantastic perspective. Let our pilots show you old mines, jagged peaks, high mountain lakes and deep canyons. Mornings are the best time for these flights, and if you'd like, we can make a stop at a remote backcountry lodge for breakfast!

Breakfast flights

Salmon Air offers families and small groups access into several of the area’s private, backcountry ranches. These ranches offer fly-in guests a hearty breakfast (lunch and dinner also available) and relaxing discovery of the ranch and its wilderness surroundings. Flights vary from $435 to $945 depending on type of aircraft required. Breakfast is an additional $15-$20 per person. Lunch $15-$25 per person and Dinners are $20-$30 per person.

• Flying B Resort (on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River)
• Root Ranch (a remote lodge high in the Chamberlain Basin)
• Sulphur Creek (a hunting/fishing lodge with a private trout pond)
• Mackay Bar (with a deck overlooking the Main Salmon River)

Scenic flights

Take your family and friends on a scenic flight to view the area from above. Rates are per hour and vary by length of flight and type of aircraft.

• Stanley Basin / Redfish Lake / Sun Valley
• Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness
• Other areas upon request
